Uncharted Movie Looks Set For A 2020 Release

The Uncharted Movie is finally getting closer to becoming a reality. The project which has been in development at Sony for more than 10 years, recently cast Spider-Man star Tom Holland in the lead role. This came after years of speculation that Mark Wahlberg would play the lead role. Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro were also attached to supporting roles.

The latest update regarding the production of the movie was released by director Shawn Levy during a recent interview with The Playlist. Levy told the website:

‘as of right now, the closest to the starting line is Uncharted. We now have a very good script and we have our star in Tom Holland’

Fans of the game will be thrilled that the Stranger Things executive producer will begin filming the product shortly. Tom Holland himself will finish filming his scenes for the upcoming Spider-Man Homecoming sequel in December. This leaves filming likely to begin shooting at some point in early 2019. Holland will play a younger version of Nathan Drake than the one found in Naughty Dog’s popular games.
