Fortnite is one of the world’s favorite multiplayer shoot ‘em ups. The game has changed quite a bit since October 2019 when Epic introduced a new map for Chapter 2. However, Fortnite still includes foraged foods you can divulge in during a match to restore health and gain shield. These are the five foods you can eat in Fortnite Chapter 2.
Fish are one of the new foods players have been eating in Fortnite since Chapter 2 started. Players can catch fish by picking up a fishing rod on the map and then tossing its bait into the water (look for circles of white water). When a fish takes the bait, you can reel it in.
There are four types of fish you can catch in Fortnite. The purple Slurpfish is the best fish to eat as it gives you 50 shield and regenerates up to 50 health. The Flopper is a more common fish you can eat to regain 50 health. Small Fry fish only regenerate up to 25 energy when health is less than 75 percent. The Mythical Goldfish is the rarest fish that’s actually a weapon you can eliminate a hostile with.
You can gobble up blue mushrooms that will give you up to five shield for each eaten. Most of the blue mushrooms are within Weeping Woods. However, you might also find a few in Slurpy Swamp.
Fortnite includes an Orchard landmarked location that’s just northeast of Frenzy Farm. As you might guess, that’s the place to go to pick up and eat some sumptuous apples. Each apple you eat will regenerate five health.
The Slurpshroom is like an upgraded blue mushroom. It’s a light blue mushroom that will give you an extra 10 shield or health when consumed. Slurpshrooms are prevalent around the swamp of Slurpy Swamp. You might also find some within the Slurp Juice factory there. It’s worth noting, however, that you can just go swimming in the swamp there to regenerate health and gain extra shield.
Coconuts are a more exotic food you can eat at Sweaty Sands. A coconut will regenerate five health or give you five extra shield if your energy is full. To find a coconut in SS, hack down the numerous palm trees there with your pickaxe. A few coconuts will fall out of some of the palm trees. Thereafter, you can pick up a coconut to eat.
Those are five foraged food alternatives to medkits and potions you can gobble up to regain health and shield. So, you don’t always need to carry medkits and potions for health and shield regeneration in Fortnite.
