If you’ve just upgraded your hard-drive in your computer, or are thinking about moving Apex Legends to your SSD, then you’ll have to completely move the installation folder. You can’t do this manually, as you will need to tell Origin where the new directory is.
Thankfully, this is an easy process and the option is already there inside of the Origin game launcher. Whilst we haven’t tested this ourselves, the steps should still work.
Below, you will find our quick guide for changing the install location for Apex Legends, as well as moving it to another drive. If you want to check out some more guides for the game, you can see our dedicated area here, or check the bottom of this post!
Move the Install Location
Open up Origin, head to the ‘My Game Library’ and choose ‘Apex Legends’. You will be taken to the game screen, but don’t press play.
Instead, open the settings area. You can do this by pressing the small cog icon located next to the play button. From there, choose the ‘Move Game’ option located at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
In the window that pops up, choose the new folder where you want to move the game to. This may be a relatively slow process, but once it’s done, Apex Legends is ready to play again from your new drive!
