We’re going to take a look at some of the best Armor Mods for Fallout 4 on the PS4 in 2019 in this post. One thing you have to note though about PS4, is that Sony has placed some pretty heavy restrictions on what you can do. Meaning that PS4 has the worst modding capabilities of any 3 platforms.
You aren’t able to add new textures, scripts, models etc. So any mods that are released have to work off the vanilla game. This is extremely unfortunate, as the mods between PS4 and Xbox One aren’t even comparable.
Either way though, below you can see a list of some of the most popular armor mods currently available. All buttons will link back to Bethesda.net where you can read more information on the mods, as well as download them to your console.
UCO Base Game
UCO, which stands for Unified Clothing Overhaul is designed to provide players with many different options to customize both the appearance and function of gear. Some of the most important features of this mod are Armor layering, legendary swap and the ability to upgrade all armor pieces to use ballistic weave.
Legendary Modification simply allows you to attach any legendary modification to a piece of armor or weapon. No longer will you have to constantly search the game world and hope to find the one you want. However you will still require materials to craft a legendary modification.
Unlock Ballistic Weave
This mod allows you to unlock Ballistic Weave modifications straight away, instead of having to complete a quest line at the Rail Road. However it doesn’t change the material cost, perk requirements or the type of armor pieces that ballistic weave can be applied to. It is compatible with UCO above though.
Separate coats adds two new craftable coats to Fallout 4 under the Chemistry station. These are the Bomber Jacket from the Brotherhood of Steel Vertiberd Pilots and Elder Maxsons Battle Coat. The coats can be worn over any of the vanilla armor pieces in-game.
Unlimited Carryweight Ring
This mod adds a ring to the game, which when worn will give you unlimited carry weight. Whilst it’s not really a piece of armor, it still deserves a place on this list.
AWKCR stands for Armor & Weapon Keywords Community Resource, and is a requirement for most other armor mods. Some of the main things it does is prevent mod conflicts, creates an armor and weapons workbench to craft modded armor pieces and much more.
Legendary Recon Marine Armor
This mod makes some changes to the Recon Marine Armor from the Far Harbor DLC in Fallout 4. Specifically, it changes the carry weight provided by the armor, adds ballistic weave to the wetsuit and helmet and adds a full set of Legendary Recon Marine Armor.
This mod adds two two sections to the Chemistry station, these are Laundromat Clean and Laundromat Dirty. You are able to turn dirty clothes into clean versions and vice versa. Cleaning clothing will cost some Abraxo Cleaner & Purified Water, whilst dirtying them will require dirty water.
FreeMaker allows you to craft items in Fallout 4 without any material or perk requirements. This means you can craft practically any armor you want for free under the armor bench.
