In this post, we’re going to take a look at some of the best character mods available for Fallout 4 on the Xbox One. These are mods that change the appearance of your character, whether they’re male or female. We’ll specifically be looking at features such as tattoos, hairstyles, body shape and more.

When you’ve installed these mods, you will want to change your appearance so that you can apply any of the new customization below. The main time you can do this is at the start of the game, during character creation. There will be another opportunity just before you exit the vault.

However, if you’re already slightly into a play-through, then you’ll need to head to a plastic surgeon! There is one available in Diamond City, which you have hopefully unlocked already. Head to Doc Crocker, who will change your appearance. There is also a barber nearby for applying any new hairstyles.

All the links below link back to Bethesda.net where you can download them on your Xbox One. If you want to read more articles like this, make sure to check out our complete list of Fallout 4 Mods for Xbox One!

Ponytail Hairstyles by Azar

If you’re playing a female character, then this mod is a good choice. Azar’s Ponytail Hairstyles adds 32 new standalone styles to the game for your female characters, although they do work on males too. They all look realistic and have working physics, head to a barber in-game to try them out.

Holstered Weapons

Another mod by Azar is Holstered Weapons. It allows you to change the appearance of your character by equipping them with weapons, which they can store in various places. You can holster the 10MM, a shotgun, rifle, rifle & backpack or just the modular backpack which can store 7 weapons. Use a Chemistry Workbench to begin crafting the items.

Caliente’s Beautiful Body Enhancer (CBBE)

Caliente’s Beautiful Bodies Enhancer, also known as CBBE is one of the most popular and downloaded mods for Fallout 4. When you install this mod, your character shape will change to the custom ‘Curvy’ preset, changing the shape of their body. There is a chance that some outfit’s won’t work properly with this mod.

Girly Animation

Girly Animation changes the animations of female characters in Fallout 4. It aims to make them more ‘feminine’, especially when it comes to running, attacking, jumping, walking and more. There is also a new idle pose and custom pistol weapon movements. It’s a good mod for any female characters you’re running.

Lots More Male Hairstyles

Now if you’re running a male character instead, this mod could be of use to you. Currently, it has around 150 new hair styles with most being made up of existing assets and hybrids. Select them during character creation or head to the barber in Diamond City to check out this mod!

Misfit Ink Tattoos

Misfit Ink Tattoos adds 15 new lore-friendly tattoos to Fallout 4. They are available for both male and female character. However, the way they look will vary depending on your current facial features and shape in-game.

Valkyr Female Face Textures

This mod is based on the PC version, it’s unknown whether it also affects the skin of the body too. However, what Valkyr female face textures does do is smooths out characters skin, giving them a softer, yet more realistic complexion.

Zella’s Hair Dye Collection

Zella’s Hair Dye Collection is a mod that adds 10 new hair colors for both female and male characters in Fallout 4. It doesn’t replace any vanilla colors either, instead showing up in their own category. There are alternative mods available which have different color options as well as wigs.

Hide Pipboy

This next Character Mod for Fallout 4 on Xbox One is quite basic, but can make a massive change. All it does is hide the Pipboy on your characters arm in-game. It’s a useful mod if your care about the look of your character, especially when trying to take screenshots. The Pipboy still opens and works normally though of course.

Looks Mirror

Our final character mod adds a new craftable item in Settlements. Under Furniture, and then Containers, you will find a new Mirror item. Place it down and interact with it in a Settlement and you can change the appearance of your character at any time. It’s much easier than heading all the way to Diamond City to visit the Surgeon.
