In this list, we’re going to take a look at some of the Best Companion Mods for Fallout 4 on Xbox One. There are a lot of companions available in Fallout 4. Some in the vanilla game, some you’ll meet from DLC.

However, with the use of mods, you can get even more companions that have thousands of different voice lines, or require completing new quests to obtain. Some mods just add equipment that changes the behaviour and effectiveness of companions.

All the links below link back to Bethesda.net where you can download them on your Xbox One. If you want to read more articles like this, make sure to check out our complete list of Fallout 4 Mods for Xbox One!

Everyone’s Best Friend Dogmeat

everybodys best friend dogmeat

Our first companion mod allows you to have Dogmeat as a companion at all times, as well as someone else. That way, you can have both Dogmeat and Codsworth at the same time for example. The main benefit to this is having extra help in fights, as well as extra carry weight. Dogmeat will still attack enemies and have the same abilities/features he always had. The only downside it there’s now twice as many companions to block doorways.

K-9 Harness

Next up is K-9 Harness, which is a companion mod that adds a new modular body armor for Dogmeat. It’s a harness which is highly customizable and offers some unique design options such as patches and colors. The harness can be upgraded to provide extra armor stats and up to 80 extra carry weight. This mod will go great with Everyone’s Best Friend Dogmeat above. There are 8 different colors and patterns to choose from.

Dark Husky Dogmeat

In default vanilla Fallout 4, Dogmeat is a German Shepherd Breed. However, installing this companion mod turns Dogmeat into a Husky Breed. It’s simply an aesthetic mod and doesn’t change anything when it comes to carry weight, animations etc. It only changes Dogmeats appearance. Some other companion mods may be incompatible with this one if the meshes are different. There are a few other breeds available on Bethesda’s website.

Infinite Ammo for Companions

This mod is a necessity in my opinion. As you’d expect, it makes your companions have infinite ammunition for their weapons, which is incredibly helpful. No longer will they run out of ammo mid fight. Companions like Nick who carry weapons will often need stocking up on ammunition repeatedly by you, this mod makes it so that’s no longer necessary.

Nora Companion

Now this companion mod is an interesting one. By making some small changes to the Fallout 4 story, this mod allows you to have Nora as a companion as you play Nate. She has complete voice lines and interactions, and works like any other companion. As soon as you exit Vault 111, a quest will trigger allowing you to find Nora. Not only is the story less sad that you haven’t lost your significant other, but you can both work together in finding Shaun.

WRVR – New Companion & Radio Station

wrvr

WRVR adds a new quest line to Fallout 4, which will also give you access to a new radio station. After completing the quest line, you will receive the DJ, Casey Kessler as a companion, who can then follow you around the wasteland. Alternatively, if you don’t want her as a companion, she will remain as a DJ where she will bring the WRVR Radio Station back to life.

Unlimited Companion Framework

As it sounds, Unlimited Companion Framework is a mod that allows you to have as many companions following you as you’d like. Included with the mod is a Holotape which you can use to change many settings about your companions including giving them infinite ammo or unbreakable Power Armor. There may be a few errors if you go too hard with this mod, as you’ll likely just hear Companions talking all the time if you have a lot.

Heather Casdin

Heather Casdin is a new companion, who you can get as a follower by completing her quest ‘Sweet Revenge’. She has over 1200 lines of dialogue, with an intense backstory from when she was a Caravan Trader. With her voicelines, she will give her impression/advice when you approach certain locations, speak to NPCs or just having random discussions. As soon as you leave the vault, you will receive a quest which will guide you towards Heather.

Loving Piper

Loving Piper is a beautification mod that changes the appearance of the Companion Piper. It was originally a PC mod, but was ported over to Xbox One. Due to it using unique hairstyles, you are also required to install the Ponytails Hairstyles mod by Azar. Nothing else about Piper is changed other than her appearance. More variations of this mod are available, but for different companions such as Cait.

Push Away Companions

Finally, we have the Push Away Companions Mod. One of the most annoying things about companions in Fallout 4 is their behaviour. Most of the time, they’ll just stop in a doorway that you need to get through, or cause other movement issues. This mod integrates a push option when selecting a companion, so that they will move out the way.
