Modern Firearms
First up is Modern Firearms which adds a load of new weapons into Fallout 4, which will be added to level lists. Levelled lists means that they can be found on NPC’s and enemies in the game world, as well as inside loot containers. Unfortunately, the developer doesn’t give much information as to how many guns are included with the mod, or how much customization they offer. However it does state that weapons can be scrapped, with some offering different attachments such as under-barrel.
Skillzerk Weapons Pack
Another pack is The Skillzerk Weapons Pack which adds over 100 new weapons to the game, both guns and melee types. They will show up on vendors, loot lists and all NPCs in general (by being added to levelled lists). The developer states that some of the weapons includes new throwing weapons, melee weapons and none lethal weapons. Whilst there are upgrades/modifications available. No DLC is required to use this mod.
RU556 Assault Rifle
Moving away from packs, we’re not at the RU556 Assault Rifle. This weapons mod adds a new AR to the Commonwealth. The developer states that it’s highly customizable, with it also offering custom animations and sounds. It will spawn randomly in levelled lists after completing the quest ‘Unfinished Deal’. The backstory behind this weapon is that it was an experimental weapon from before the war, found on a ship.
MK14 EBR
Ported from the PC version is the MK14 EBR Rifle. It is a fully customizable Battle Rifle, offering 6 scopes, 3+1 stocks, 3 muzzle attachments, 2 barrel lengths, flashlight and semi/fully automatic capabilities. The weapon has a base damage of 33, and can be customized at a workbench. There are many locations where you can find the weapon in-game, the easiest being at Publick Occurrences in Diamond City.
SCAR-H
This mod adds the SCAR-H to Fallout 4, specifically inside the Museum of Freedom where you will first meet Preston Garvey. The weapon has a lot of customization available, with different sights, receivers, ammunition types, finishes, magazines, grips, muzzles and much more. It also has custom animations for the barrel grip and angled fore grip. The developer states that the weapon is suitable to be used at any level.
M1 Garand
This next weapon mod adds the M1 Garand, a favorite weapon to many! It comes with different customizations including sights, muzzles and receivers. One you reach level 17, the weapon will start spawning in the game world on gunners. Whilst it will also start to show up in Vendor lists so that you can buy it after level 13. There are two legendary variants of the M1 Garand, being named ‘This Machine’ and ‘Blue Betty’, you will have to find them yourself.
Desert Eagle
Another Fallout weapon mod ported from PC to the Xbox One is the Desert Eagle. It features custom sounds, textures and attachments including flashlights, sights and more. Whilst using .44MM ammunition by default, you can also switch between .38 and .50 calibers. It will be added to level lists, meaning it will show up on both enemies killed and vendors. Or you can head to the wreck of the FMS Northern Star, where it spawns naturally and can be picked up.
The Widow Shotgun
This weapon mod adds a sawn off double barrelled shotgun into the Fallout 4 Commonwealth. Once installed, you’ll find this shotgun in a hidden cellar in Concord. Take it to a workbench, where you can then upgrade it to feature different receives, stocks, ammo types, zoom configuration, muzzle breaks and suppressors. It will not be added to level lists, so the only way to obtain it is from inside Concord. Enemy NPCs will not be able to use it either.
Chinese Assault Rifle
Wasteland Melody’s Chinese Assault Rifle is inspired by the original weapon in Fallout 3. This time though, recreated for Fallout 4 with all new meshes, sounds and textures. It can be pretty heavily modded to change scopes, barrels, stocks, ammunition and more. Once installed, it will appear on level lists and found in-game on enemies such as Raiders and Gunners. It can also be bought from travelling vendors/stores.
PTRS-41 Anti Tank Rifle
Our final weapon mod adds the PTRS-41 Anti Tank Rifle to Fallout 4. There are 3 weapons included, which are the PTRS-41, Type 76 Chinese Anti Power-Armor Rifle and the QBU-76-20 Black Shark. Also included are two new turrets and an old school styled melee weapon named ‘Can Opener’. These weapons can be modified heavily, with there being over 190 options available!
