GamingFallout 76: How To Craft Armor

In Fallout 76, you are expected to craft and upgrade armor when you can. Whilst you’ll mostly find armor as loot from killing enemies, the option is still there to craft your own.

In fact, one of the first missions you receive will ask you to craft your first piece of armor and your first weapon. Although this quest is completely optional. If you are doing this quest, make sure to search the toolbox on the table at the Overseers Camp for some free materials to get started.

Below, you can see how to craft Armor in Fallout 76. Whilst we’ve covered many more guides for the game which can be found here.

Crafting Armor Pieces

First, you’ll need to make sure you have enough resources to craft armor. If you’re doing the ‘Craft a piece of Armor’ quest, search the toolbox on the image below. It provides some materials such as leather.

Find an Armor Workbench. The first one you come across will be at the Overseers Camp near Vault 76. Whilst most towns will also have their own armor workbench. You can also place your own bench in your C.A.M.P.

Inside the workbench, you can choose which pieces of armor you wish to craft as well as the resources required. At the start of the game, you’ll only be able to craft leather armor pieces in Fallout 76.

At the workbench, you can also modify/repair items you already own by pressing Space on PC. Only one player can interact with a bench at a time.
