Crouching in Fortnite: Battle Royale
Crouching in shooter games, especially Fortnite’s Battle Royale can give many advantages. Firstly, it can help you get into a more tactical position, making your model smaller and harder to see.
It can also help distract your enemy by constantly crouching and standing back up, making it pretty difficult for an enemy to lock onto your head. Dealing head-shots in Fortnite BR does more damage than body shots.
The major way that crouching assists you is by reducing the amount of bloom, which is how much your bullets spread whilst firing. Like in other games such as Counter Strike & Call of Duty, crouching will massively increase your accuracy and help you hit more killer shots.

Crouching on PC
To crouch in Fortnite: Battle Royale on PC, use Left Control. This layout is similar to most shooters and provides the best user experience. However, if you don’t want to keep your crouch set to Left CTRL, you can change it by going into the ‘Input’ settings from the options menu.
See our guide for changing controls in Fortnite if you’re having problems. Meanwhile, you can also use Left Shift to sprint in game and help you traverse the map faster.
Crouching on Console
Trying to crouch on console and can be a bit of a pain, as the controls don’t specifically state which key is bound to crouch in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
With some trial and error however, I have found that pressing in the right analogue stick allows me to crouch with the default controls. This should work for both Xbox One and PS4 controllers.
