How to land faster in Fortnite Battle Royale
As soon as you jump off the Battle Bus is Fortnite’s Battle Royale, it’s you vs 99 others in a race to the ground. As soon as you hit the floor, everything is a mad rush for finding weapons, armour, medical kits and traps before they are all snatched up.
If you don’t get to them first, the others will and you’re going to pay for it later. The first and most important thing to finding all the good loot, is landing before everyone else. A lot of roof tops in industrial areas will have weapons and loot on the roof, whilst most attics of houses will have a high chance of chests.
If you do manage to collect a weapon from the roof, you’re able to quickly take out anyone who still may be landing or looking for weapons themselves.
Eventually, most of the good weapons and armor will begin to become more sparse and hard to find. That’s why in this post, we’ll look at a few tips for diving faster with the Glider or Umbrella.
Tips for landing faster in Fortnite Battle Royale
Firstly, it’s completely possible to change your diving speed in Battle Royale. By not pressing any buttons, you will slowly glide downwards as seen on the image above. However, if you push your mouse down or left analogue, you can dive completely down massively increasing your speed.
You can also wait until the last moment to deploy your glider. There is no obligation for you to deploy it yourself, as soon as your character reaches a certain distance from the ground, it will automatically open. This will allow you to actually get as low as possible.
If the area you want to go to is directly below you, don’t dive out when flying over it. Jump out a bit before, that way you can actually dive straight down very quickly. Let your glider automatically deploy, then glide forwards towards the area at the end. This will stop you having to keep circling round.
Other than that, there’s no special methods for landing quickly in Fortnite Battle Royale. There is also no difference in speeds between the umbrella and the glider.
