Adding Fortnite Battle Royale to Steam
There is nothing wrong with using the Epic Launcher, it’s sleek, fast and doesn’t require any effort to use or navigate. However a lot of people like to have all of their games centralised in one location. Which in most cases for PC Players, would be the Steam Platform which is owned by Valve.
Inside of Steam, you have all of your friends and they can be notified that you’re playing Fortnite Battle Royale, and possibly even join you. Adding games to Steam also provides you with the Steam Overlay. It means you can also run Fortnite through Steam Big Picture mode if you happen to be using a controller or a device such as the Steam Link, which allows you to stream your games to any other TV in your house without a HDMI cable!
This guide works with the default Steam theme, assuming you aren’t using any Steam skins. There is no way to officially add Fortnite to Steam, all this method does is add the game to your library and let your friends know that you are currently playing.
How to add Fortnite to Steam
To start, go to your Steam Library and choose “Add a game…” in the bottom left corner. Select the first option which says “Add a Non-Steam Game”.

In the next window that pops up, you can either look in the list for “Epic Games Launcher”, or select the Browse button.

If you have found it in the list, choose “Add Selected Programs”, otherwise browse to your Epic Games directory. By default, this will be in your Program Files\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\ and select the Epic Games Launcher executable.
The Epic Games Launcher should now be in your Steam library, allowing you to run Fortnite Battle Royale. A useful final step would be to right click the Epic Games Launcher in your library, choose Properties and rename it to “Fortnite Battle Royale”. You can’t invite friends to your lobby through Steam, and it doesn’t add a whole lot of functionality.
