GamingHow to Craft Netherite Tools in Minecraft

Netherite Tools are a new addition to Minecraft, made with Netherite Ingots. Netherite Ingots are quite hard to obtain, you’ll need to collect Netherite Scrap from Ancient Debris and smelt it into Netherite Ingots.

With Netherite Ingots, you can upgrade Diamond Tools into a Netherite Sword, Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel and Hoe. They are stronger than Diamond Tools, and also won’t be destroyed in lava.

This guide is suitable for all versions of Minecraft, including Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. The steps should also be similar between consoles and devices including the PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Pocket Edition. Crafting Netherite Tools

Unlike other tools in Minecraft, ones made out of Netherite aren’t crafted inside of a Crafting Table. Instead, they are upgraded from Diamond Tools inside of a Smithing Table, so make sure you have Diamond Tools ready.

Start by crafting a Smithing Table. You can do this by combining 4 Wooden Planks and 2 Iron Ingots inside of a Crafting Table. Place it down in your world and open it up.

Recipe for a Smithing Table

In the left slot of the Smithing Table, place the tool you want to upgrade (it has to be made out of Diamond). Then, place a Netherite Ingot into the middle slot. You can pull your new tool out of the right slot, which will be fireproof.

Crafting a Netherite Sword

The process for upgrading your tools to Netherite is quite cheap, but annoyingly the process for getting the Ingots can be time consuming. You can go ahead and repeat this process for any armor items you have too.

Steps for Crafting Netherite Tools

  1. Craft a Smithing Table by placing 4 Wood Planks and 2 Iron Ingots in a Crafting Table.
  2. Place the Smithing Table down, and place your Diamond Tools in the left slot.
  3. Add a Netherite Ingot into the middle slot to craft your Netherite Tools.
