What is Sky Factory 4
Just like it sounds, Sky Factory 4 is a survival island styled pack available for Minecraft Java Edition. When you first spawn in the game world, all you will have is a tree and a single piece of dirt. Fall off this, and it’s already game over.
Your overall goal is to complete all of the achievements handed to you in a book. Make use of around the 200 built-in mods. Currently, it’s one of the most popular and played mod-packs available.
How to Install ATLauncher
To install Sky Factory 4, we’re going to be using the ATLauncher. It’s a launcher which has many mod-packs built in, which can be played at the press of a button.
Start by heading to the downloads page of ATLauncher, scroll down and download the file-type most appropriate for your system. For Windows, it’s an .exe file, .zip for Mac OS and .jar for Linux. Most of you will want the .exe file.
Once it’s downloaded, don’t run it. Instead, create a new folder somewhere on your computer. This could be on the desktop, your downloads or anywhere else. Name it ATLauncher or something similar and place the .exe file inside on it’s own.
The ATLauncher.exe file has to be on it’s own, otherwise it will delete any files alongside it. If you’ve done that and you receive a warning about it being alongside other files, you can just press continue. Once you’ve installed ATLauncher, the folder will now have a lot of other files. You can go ahead and run ATLauncher.exe to open the launcher.
Setting up Your Minecraft Account
Now that you have the Launcher installed and open, you need to head to the Accounts section. From the navigation menu on the right hand side, simply press the ‘Accounts’ button.
In the next window that opens up, you will need to add the details to your Minecraft/Mojang account. The launcher isn’t compatible with cracked Minecraft accounts, or anything other than Java Edition. Once done, press the ‘Add’ Button. You can then switch to your account by using the drop-down menu at the bottom of ATLauncher.
How to Install & Play Sky Factory 4
Now that we have the Launcher setup and your account integrated, we can finally play Sky Factory 4! On the right hand side of ATLauncher, press the ‘Packs’ button. Look for Sky Factory 4 from the list of packs, or use the search bar at the top of the launcher.
If you’re wanting to play it in single player, just press the ‘New Instance’ button next to Sky Factory 4. You will then be able to choose a name and version if you’d like to. Just hit the Install button. Sky Factory 4 will begin to download and install, which shouldn’t take too long.
Now move to the ‘Instances’ tab on the right hand side of the screen once Sky Factory 4 is installed. You should see Sky Factory 4 in the list of instances, all you need to do now is press the ‘Play’ button. If you need to increase the amount of RAM, press the ‘Settings’ button instead to change it. That’s it, you can now play Sky Factory 4 in Minecraft!
