Weapon Parts are a material and resource in The Outer Worlds. You will mostly need them to repair any weapons that you currently have in your inventory.
As your weapons begin to break and lose durability, they will do less damage, making them a little more useless. Repairing them will bring them back up to their base stats. You can check the damage at any time by opening your inventory, and looking at the wrench icon next to each weapon.
We’ve put together a short guide below for finding Weapon Parts in TOW. For more guides & content for The Outer Worlds on PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One, make sure to check out our dedicated area here!
Obtaining Weapon Parts
The first way to obtain Weapon Parts is by finding them. Loot any bodies and containers you find in the game world, and there is a small chance of finding them. Another way is to recycle old weapons, turning them into Weapon Parts.

Find a Workbench. These are in a lot of places in the game world, with the most accessible one being on your ship ‘The Unreliable’. Interact with it.

Inside the Workbench, you can apply mods to weapons, upgrade them in the tinker tab, repair items or ‘Break Down’. It’s in the Break Down section where you can scrap weapons and armor items. Hover over the item to Break Down, and on the right hand side you can see how many Weapon Parts you will receive.
