Shears are a useful tool in Minecraft that have many uses. They can be crafted at the cost of Iron Ingots, but also have a small chance of spawning in Village chests.
You’ll mostly use them to Shear the wool off sheep, or collect leaves from trees in their block forms. However they can also collect cobwebs, shearing mooshrooms, disabling tripwire and carving pumpkins.
Below, we’ll show you how to craft Shears in Minecraft. For more Minecraft Guides & Best-of lists including Seeds and Resource Packs, make sure to check out our dedicated area here!
Crafting Shears in Minecraft
To craft a pair of Shears, all you will require is 2 Iron Ingots. Which you can obtain by smelting 2 Iron Ore inside of a furnace.
Open up the crafting table and place the 2 Iron Ingots so that they are in a diagonal pattern. Use the screenshot above as a reference, you will receive a pair of shears.
You can now use Shears on any blocks that allow it. Interacting with a sheep whilst holding shears will provide 1-3 wool for example.
