If you’re playing the multiplayer mode in Borderlands 3, you might want to learn how to ping locations. By pinging, you can signal locations in the game that all players in you lobby can see.
Below, we’ll show you how to ping locations in-game. For more Borderlands 3 Guides & Best-of content for PS4, PC and Xbox One, make sure to check out our dedicated area here!
Pinging & Marking Locations
There are two ways to Ping in Borderlands 3. The first, is using a shortcut. On PC, you can ping by pressing X, whilst on PS4 or Xbox One, you can press D-Pad Up.

Wherever you are pointing your crosshair when pressing this button, you will ping a location for other players in your game to see. It’s visible cross map and through walls, so people know where to head to.

Otherwise, you can use the quick access wheel. This is a wheel that holds emotes, the duelling option and an option for opening photo mode. If you’re playing on PC, open this menu by holding Z. Whilst you can hold down the START button on PS4 or Xbox. Select the crosshair icon to ping.
