Heads are a cosmetic item in Borderlands 3 which make a massive difference to the appearance of your character. Instead of changing basic things like head shape, color or features, it usually completely makes you into something unique.

They come in many forms, such as Bobble-heads, animal heads and more. Whilst they can mostly be unlocked by progressing through the game, you can also buy some from Earl.
Below, we’ll show you how to unlock new heads in Borderlands 3. For more Borderlands 3 Guides & Best-of content for PS4, PC and Xbox One, make sure to check out our dedicated area here!
Collecting New Heads
The first way to obtain new heads is by naturally playing the game. Progressing through missions and killing bosses is certain to unlock you some new unique cosmetics. Otherwise, you can buy them.
After completing one of the first story-lines and leaving the first area, you’ll head to a new place (we won’t name it due to spoilers). But Earl is there, from the previous game who sells objects for Eridium.

You’ll find him behind a door, just like in Borderlands 2. This time though, he also has a vending machine where he sells cosmetic items such as Heads, Skins and much more.

Some of these heads can get pretty expensive, costing hundreds of Eridium.
