In the current development phase of Temtem, there is no way to chat with other players in the game world. The only way to actually communicate is by using emotes, which make your character do an animation, and place a small icon above their head.
Currently, there are 4 emotes available in Temtem. These are a wave emote which can be used to say Hello. There’s also a laughing emote, a heart emote and a battle emote, which could be used to signal to other players you want to duel.
Below, we’ll show you how to use emotes in Temtem. For more Temtem Guides and Best-of lists on PC, PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch, make sure to check out our dedicated area here!
Their is an emote wheel in place where you can see the available emotes, and choose between them. On PC, you can access this wheel by pressing ‘Q’ on your keyboard by default.
Use your mouse and pick an emote, or press one of the number keys (1, 2, 3 or 4) to choose one. Your character will then do the emote and animation.
There is another way to do emotes in Temtem, but the process is a little slower. Open up the menu by pressing ESC or TAB and choose the ‘Emotes’ button. This will just open up the emote wheel, which is quicker to open by pressing Q.
