You’ll find your inventory filling up fast in Borderlands 3. Especially with weapons that are too high level for you if you’re progressing through the story too fast.

You can either sell these weapons and other items at a vending machine. Or use the in-game bank, which allows you to store and retrieve up to 10 items for free. Later on, you can increase the amount of slots.

Below, we’ll show you where to find and how to upgrade the bank in-game. For more Borderlands 3 Guides & Best-of content for PS4, PC and Xbox One, make sure to check out our dedicated area here

How to Use the Bank

Once you have left the starting area in Borderlands 3, you will have access to the bank. If you haven’t left the starting area, look away now as there are area spoilers ahead.

The Bank in Sanctuary

The bank can be found in Sanctuary. You can check your minimap if you can’t find the exact location, but it’s not far from the Fast Travel Station. Look for a golden piggy-bank icon on your minimap.

Deposit items into the bank

In the bank, you can store up to 10 items at the start. However you can upgrade the bank by increasing its storage capacity.

Head to Marcus Munitions in Sanctuary, who sells Storage Deck Upgrades (SDU’s). SDU’s allow you to increase ammo capacity, inventory slots and bank slots. There are multiple upgrade tiers available, with each one providing more slots at the cost of in-game cash. The first tier will cost $1000.
