GamingJurassic World Evolution: How to Play Sandbox Mode

One of the most wanted things by players of Jurassic World Evolution would be a Sandbox mode. A mode where players can build anything they want for free.

Thankfully, this is completely possible and takes place on the main island in the Jurassic Park franchise, Isla Nublar. When you first start the game, this mode is locked by default and you’re stuck in the tutorial.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock Sandbox mode and play with unlimited resources! If you want to check out some more Jurassic World Evolution guides, check out our main section here.

Playing Sandbox Mode

As I mentioned before, the Sandbox Mode takes place completely on Isla Nublar. You can’t play this mode until you unlock the island all together. Unlocking Isla Nublar required you to get a 4 Star park rating on the first island.

Unlocking Isla Nublar

The hard part of this, is getting a 4 Star park rating. There are many factors that affect the rating of your park. It mostly goes by the type/variety of your dinosaurs and guest satisfaction. If you head to the Park Management screen, you can see what needs improving.

Star Rating of the island

As you can see on the image above, my island rating at the time was closing up on 3 total. You can see that facility wise, the park is sitting at 5 stars, whilst the dinosaur rating is only sitting at 1 and a half stars. This can be improved by modifying dinosaurs, having a wider variety and ensuring they’re all healthy.

Once you do hit that 4 star rating, Jeff Goldblum will give a bit of dialogue before you are presented with the following screen.
