Legendary Hunt is a challenge that is available in The Droughts area. It’s also available in other regions, with it having the same theme of defeating an enemy. For this challenge, you’ll be killing the Lavender Crawler.
The challenge is provided by Sir Hammerlock, and as a reward, you will receive Eridium, Cash and XP. On top, you will also get weapons, shields and other loot that is dropped by the enemy.

Legendary Hunt Challenge
In The Droughts, head to the area marked on the map below in the red circle. Your map orientation may be different to the screenshot below, as it is judged by which way you are currently facing in-game.
Either way, it’s located not far from the Fast Travel Station near the Crimson Raiders base. Just head left from the station. Once you arrive, Sir Hammerlock will speak to you about the challenge.
The Lavender Crawler is a bit obnoxious to kill. Once it dies, it will morph into a new enemy so it needs to be killed multiple times. For that reason, it might take a while and might even be quite difficult if you are still relatively low levelled.
