Polar Bears are a neutral Minecraft Mob that can be found in most winter and snow biomes. They spawn as both adult and cub variants, and don’t offer much when it comes to interactions.
When first encountered, Polar Bears will be in a passive state unless you get to close to their baby (cub), which is when they will become aggressive and attack the player. Attack a cub, and all adults within the area will become hostile, not just the cubs parents.

Where to Find Polar Bears in Minecraft
Polar Bears spawn naturally in Minecraft, and can be found in various Winter Biomes. Specifically in Snowy Tundra, Snowy Mountains and Ice Spike Biomes.

They will spawn in groups of up to 4, with their always being one parent if more than two spawn with the others being cubs. The easiest way to find them would be by simply exploring snow biomes, or using some winter seeds.
What do Polar Bears Eat in Minecraft?
Currently, Polar Bears do not eat any food in Minecraft, nor can they be fed by the player. If you approach a Polar Bear with any type of Raw Fish, they will not respond or eat it. However, when you kill a Polar Bear in Minecraft, it does in-fact have a chance of dropping Raw Cod or Raw Salmon.
With Polar Bears not eating any objects provided by players, that means that Baby Polar Bear Cubs also can’t have their time of growth sped up.
Can You Breed Polar Bears in Minecraft?
At the moment, you can’t breed Polar Bears in Minecraft. As Polar Bears don’t eat any types of food, there is no way to force them to breed. It also seems that two Polar Bears will not naturally have a baby either.

The only way to get a baby Polar Bear Cub is by finding them naturally spawning alongside their parents in the game world. Whether this will change in the future is unknown, as developers may eventually allow players to breed them. But for now, it seems like their sole purpose is to make the snow biomes feel more alive.
How to Tame Polar Bears in Minecraft
Polar Bears can’t be tamed in the same way animals like Cats and Dogs can. As they don’t eat anything or want anything from the player, they will never actually ‘love you’. They won’t follow you, fight for you or do anything unique.

However, you can leash them up and make them follow you. So if you’re wanting to set-up an arctic styled base, you can bring some back and keep them trapped so they don’t wander off.
