Mortal Kombat fans find themselves at the mercy of series creator Ed Boon and his persistent (but often hilarious) trolling over on Twitter. However, there might now be something a bit more to cling onto now it seems, as the highly anticipated and heavily requested sequel to Mortal Kombat X appears to be in development.
This is according to a report from RealGamerNewz, who revealed that former MK motion capture actors Master Daniel Pesina and Richard Divizio stated that work on the game had begun during MO Game Con. The video below sees Master Pesina confirm that his students from Chicago Wushu School of Kung Fu and Tai Chi, along with younger sibling Carlos, are currently working on the motion capture for the upcoming entry in the celebrated fighting franchise.
Boon’s pinned tweet from last month is of interest, which revealed that NetherRealm Studios were working on their next game:
Hard to believe its been 8 years since we opened @NetherRealm studios…. and while we’re not quite ready to talk about our next game… Be assured everyone here is working very hard to make it our best game yet!
With the studio having released Injustice 2 most recently, all fingers point towards a new MK release, with Boon also seeming to kibosh the idea of a new MK vs. DC Universe title in the same thread.
There has been no official confirmation from either NetherRealm or WB studios as of yet, but the evidence is certainly mounting so much so that we could hear something even more concrete very soon.
