Weeds are a ground item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which are actually considered a pest by some of the residents. You’re encouraged by Tom Nook to clean them up in order to earn money (bells) in-game.
There is also a challenge available where you can earn Nook Miles for cleaning up and selling Weeds, with the first one giving 300 miles for 50 Weeds sold.
This guide was created during the first week of Animal Crossing: New Horizons release on the Nintendo Switch. Depending on when you’re reading this guide, some thing may be different due to future updates. However we’ll always try to come back and update these guides! Cleaning Up Weeds
Weeds can be found all around your island, looking like small plants which contrast a lot against the grass. Picking them up is simple, walk towards them (within 1 block distance) and press the Y button on your Nintendo Switch.

You will pick them up, and they can go into your inventory where they will be stacked. The best thing to do with Weeds would probably be to sell them, although they can be used in Crafting Recipes such as the Umbrella.

At the start of the game, you can sell items to Timmy. If you want to sell him Weeds, he will pay 500 Bells for 50 Weeds, so 10 Bells each.
