Selling your stuff in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the easiest way to obtain the in-game currency Bells. With Bells, you can go ahead and buy new furniture, tools and cosmetic items from the store.
This guide was created during the first week of Animal Crossing: New Horizons release on the Nintendo Switch. Depending on when you’re reading this guide, some thing may be different due to future updates. However we’ll always try to come back and update these guides! Selling Items
At the start of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can only sell items to Timmy, who can be found in the tent in the Plaza. This is until you get the actual store up and running. Interact with him, and you’ll find out that he’ll buy and sell items. Choose the ‘I want to sell!’ option.

The inventory interface will open, where you can select the items you wish to sell. Currently, it seems you can only sell the stack of items, and not individual ones from a stack, so use the ‘Grab’ option beforehand if you want to sell just a few from a stack.

When you confirm a sale, Timmy will give you an offer. In the example above, he will give 500 Bells for 50 Weeds, which is an easy source of money early on in in the game.
