In this guide, you can find some instructions for how to install the Pixelmon Reforged modpack for Minecraft. This guide is done using the ATLauncher, as it’s the easiest and most efficient way to install most modpacks. We’ve covered guides for more Minecraft Modpacks too, which might be helpful.

What is Pixelmon Reforged

Pixelmon is one of Minecraft’s most popular and well-known modpacks. It’s based around Pokémon, and brings over many of the loved mechanics and features such as catching, battling, trading and breeding.

There are a few differences compared to actual Pokémon, such as how spawning works and limitations in regular Minecraft. Currently, there are over 850 Pokemon able to collect in Pixelmon, and many items such as Poké Balls, Healers and more.

Mods Included

The following mods are including with Pixelmon Reforged: Biomes O’ Plenty, BoP Patch, Gameshark, JourneyMap, Optifine, Pixelmon, Pixelmon Extras and the Pixelmon Mod OST.

How to Install ATLauncher

To install Pixelmon Reforged, we’re going to be using the ATLauncher. It’s a launcher which has many mod-packs built in, which can be installed and played at the press of a button.

Start by heading to the ATLauncher Downloads, scroll down and download the file-type most appropriate for your system. For Windows, it’s a .EXE file, .ZIP for Mac OS and .JAR for Linux. Most users will want to grab the .EXE file.

Once ATLauncher is downloaded, don’t run it. Instead, create a new folder somewhere on your computer. A good location choice would be the desktop. Name it ATLauncher or something similar and place the file we just downloaded inside.

The ATLauncher file has to be on it’s own, otherwise it will delete any files alongside it. If you’ve done that, but still receive a warning about it being alongside other files, you can just press continue. Once you’ve installed ATLauncher, the folder will now have a lot of other files inside it. You can go ahead and run ATLauncher.exe to open the launcher anytime.

Login to the ATLauncher

Now that you have the Launcher installed and open, you need to head to the Accounts section. From the navigation menu on the right hand side, press the ‘Accounts’ button.

ATLauncher Account Setup

In the next window that opens up, you will need to add the details to your Minecraft/Mojang account. The launcher isn’t compatible with cracked/hacked Minecraft accounts, or anything other than Java Edition.

Once done, press the ‘Add’ Button. The credentials will be checked. You can then switch to your account by using the drop-down menu at the bottom of ATLauncher.

How to Install Pixelmon Reforged

With everything now setup and ready, it’s time to install the Pixelmon Reforged modpack. To do so, choose ‘Packs’ on the right hand side of ATLauncher. Typically, Pixelmon Reforged can be found near the top of the list due to its popularity. However there’s also a search bar at the top of the screen where you can search for the pack.

Install the Pixelmon Pack

If you’re wanting to play it in single player, just press the ‘New Instance’ button. You will then be able to choose a name and version if you’d like to. Just hit the Install button when ready.

Once the pack is installed, it’s ready to be played. If you also want to setup a Pixelmon Reforged server so that you can play with friends, you should choose the ‘Create Server’ button. You’ll still need the Instance as well as the Server though to play.

How to Play Pixelmon Reforged

When you’re ready to play Pixelmon Reforged, choose the Instances tab on the right hand side of the screen. Here, you can find all of your installed modpacks. Hit the play button to start up modded Minecraft with the pack installed.

To run the server, you should choose the ‘Servers’ tab on the right side of the screen too, and run your server. There is also a Pixelmon Wiki available, where you can find more guides.
