After killing an animal in Red Dead Redemption 2, you can skin it for its pelt. After that, you are able to collect some of the meat off the animals body. You’re left with the carcass, a big lump of meat.
The best thing you can do with this would be to take it back to camp, specifically to Pearson so that he can put it in the stew and feed camp. It will help replenish the food resources in camp.
Below, we’re going to show you how to collect an animal carcass in Red Dead Redemption 2 to transport it back to camp. If you want to check out some more guides for Red Dead Redemption 2, we have a dedicated area here.
Transporting an Animal Carcass
After killing an animal, you’re left with the carcass on the ground. Pick it up and stow it on the back of your horse. If you’re carrying a pelt like I am on the image below, make sure to also stow this on the horse first.

With the carcass on the back, head back to the camp and specifically to Pearson’s table. You can find it at the hunger icon on the map.

Once you reach the camp, take the carcass off the back of the horse and carry it towards the table. When near Pearson, choose the ‘Contribute’ option, where you can give meat and pelts.

To give the carcass, look for it in the section on the left. It will look like the head of an animal you killed. That’s it, Pearson will use the meat to make food for camp!
