GamingRed Dead Redemption 2 Online: How to Mute Other Players

In Red Dead Redemption 2 Online, voice chat is enabled by default with the setting set to ‘Everybody’. This means that you can hear other players in the game world no matter where they are in the map, whilst they can also hear you.

Some players may not be aware of this and make some obnoxious sounds or just be annoying in general. Luckily, there is a mute option available so that you can block those players voices out.

Below, we’re going to show you how to mute other players in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online. If you want to check out some more guides for the game, we have a dedicated area here.

Muting Players in RDR2

To start, open up the player menu in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online. You can do this by pressing the Left D-Pad on your controller. From there, choose the ‘Players’ option.

You will now see a list of players currently in the game world. You can use L1/R1 to navigate through the lists of people, filtering it to friends, posse, nearby etc. Look for the player in the list that you want to mute.

In the bottom right, you will see a ‘Mute’ option when hovering over a player. On PS4, you can mute a player by pressing Square. Alternatively, you can choose to Mute All.

If a player is being offensive, you can also report them by selecting them in the list of players, then choosing the ‘Report’ option. Head into the ‘Online Options’ in the previous menu to configure your voice chat settings for the game world.
