When playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you can choose whether to play with a third person camera, or a first person camera. When playing third person, you can see Arthur (main character) and the camera behind him. Whilst playing in first person, the camera is positioned at Arthur’s face, so you see the world through his eyes essentially.
I personally prefer third person, because it feels that first person adds an extra level of difficulty. Although seeing the game world with a first person camera looks great, as you see much more detail.
The option is there either way. Below, we’ve quickly shown how to switch between first and third person views in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Switching Camera Views
On Xbox One, you can change the camera view by pressing the ‘View’ button, whilst on PS4, it’s done by pressing the track-pad button. If you hold this button, it will instead switch to a cinematic view. It’s unknown what the control will be if the game eventually comes to PC.

Above is an example of the third person view.
