Gun Oil is a very important resource in Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s used to clean weapons that you own. Without any gun oil in your satchel, you won’t be able to clean weapons meaning they will be less efficient.
As you use weapons, they will get dirty and rusty meaning that they lose a lot of their efficiency. Affecting attributes such as fire rate, damage, reload times etc. The way to combat this is by cleaning your weapon every so often using gun oil.
Below, you can see where to buy Gun Oil in Red Dead Redemption 2. Whilst we’ve covered many more guides for the game here.
Getting Gun Oil
Gun Oil can be brought from any gun store that you come across. These will always be found in towns around the map, and will have a small gun icon on them to indicate their location.

Approach the gunsmith and browse the catalog. Head into the ‘Accessories’ section and look for Gun Oil.

The Gunsmith sells Gun Oil for around $1.35 each, but this price can vary depending on a few factors. I recommend you buy multiple of these so that you can maintain all of your weapons without having to make multiple trips to town.
