In this mod list, we’re going to look at some of the Best Mods available for Building Settlements in Fallout 4. Settlements are a new mechanic to the Fallout games, with it having a love/hate relationship with fans. Hopefully with these mods, the entire process should feel more streamlined, realistic and immersive.

Unfortunately, PS4 players have it the worst when it comes to modding Fallout 4. Due to heavy restrictions by Sony, no external assets are allowed to be used, meaning no new models, textures, sounds etc. This means it’s hard to find a lot of great mods that we usually see on Xbox and PC.

The mods in this list are in no particular order, and all the buttons below link back to Bethesda.net where you can download them on your PS4. Here at PwrDown, we’ve covered many more lists like this for Fallout 4 PS4 Mods!

No Build Limits

First up, we have No Build Limits. In Fallout 4, there’s a cap to how many items you can place in Settlements. This cap is likely there to prevent any game-breaking bugs from happening, or for the game to start lagging. After installing this mod, there will be no build limit, and you can place as many items as you want. It’s very important for anyone who is interested in building large settlements.

Unlocked Settlement Objects

Unlocked Settlement Objects, also known as USO that aims to add all in-game assets and models into the Settlements Building mode. New items will be under the USO category, with it including custom retextures of floors and walls, floor mats which can act as stores and guard stations, floor mats which act as animations such as scavenging stations and sitting, buildable NPCs and much more.

Scrap That Settlement

STS, or Scrap That Settlement allows you to scrap many items that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to normally. This includes most of the debris items, trash, foliage and buildings. Currently though, there are a few things you can’t scrap such as roads, rock cliffs, light sources and a few other objects. Installing this mod will certainly help you clean up your settlements.

OCDecorator

If you’re someone who loves building Settlements and putting a lot of work into designing them, then OCDecorator is a must-have. You can now place objects down, and they will remain there as static items, meaning they can’t be pushed over, despawned etc. You can now fill up the shelves and walls of your Settlements, and make them feel more realistic.

Pre-Walled Settlements

Building concrete walls around Settlements is one of the best ways to defend them, as there’s only going to be a single entry point. This mod will wall all your Settlements for you, so you don’t have to. Currently, it’s supports Abernathy Farm, Greygarden, Greentop Nursery, Outpost Zimonja, Sunshine Tidings Co-Op, The Slog, Kingsport Lighthouse, Oberland Station, Taffington Boathouse, Tenplines Bluff, Red Rocket, Jamaica Plains, Starlight Drive-in, Finch Farm and Nordhagen Beach.

FreeMaker

FreeMaker is a mod which allows you to craft items for free, with no material or perk requirements. Overall, it’s a huge cheat mod and can be pretty immersion breaking. One of the options is the ability to craft unlimited building materials which can be used in your Settlements.

Place Anywhere

As you’d expect, Place Anywhere allows you to build settlement objects anywhere you want, with objects being allowed to clip into eachother. The tool can be accessed from the ‘Special’ section of the Workshop. This mod has always been one of the most popular choices, as it allows you to place objects precisely where you need.

Settlement Electricity Overhaul

Settlement Electricity Overhaul aims to make using electricity in your Settlements as clean as possible. If an item requires electricity through a wire, with this mod, it will now be able to be powered wirelessly by using a ‘Wireless Fuse Box’. Just place the fuse box down, and it will cover all the electric items in that area of your Settlement.

Castle Revamp

This mod makes a lot of changes to The Castle Settlement. Now, it feels much more alive with it being surrounded by grass and trees. As well as this, all the holes in the walls are fixed, making it more secure and clean looking. It’s one of the best mods available for repairing The Castle.

Sanctuary Hot Springs

Finally, we have Sanctuary Hot Springs. It’s a detailed Hot Springs Settlement, located just outside of Sanctuary. The Settlement features interior and exterior areas, the ability to redecorate by scrapping and building items, acts as a fast travel location for quick access and you can even send NPCs here who can hang out with you.
