Vehicles in Minecraft can provide a lot of immersion to your game. You can use vehicles to travel around, explore, reach friends bases, transport items or just use them for display. They make the best additions to multiplayer servers though.
Mods massively change Minecraft, taking it to a whole new level. The great thing is that there are millions of mods available, with them covering practically every category and genre that you can think of. Unfortunately, mod capability and support varies massively between PC, PS4, Xbox and Pocket Edition. All of the mods shown in this list are for Java Edition only.
All the buttons below will link back to Curse Forge, where you can download these mods for Minecraft. For more Minecraft Guides, Mod Lists & Best-of content, make sure to check out our dedicated area here! The list below is in no particular order.
My Crayfish’s Vehicle Mod
First up, we have Mr Crayfish’s Vehicle Mod. It’s a large mod which contains 20 vehicles which can be customized with different wheels, colors and engines. Vehicles range from scooters, tractors, go-karts, quad bikes, trucks and more. To increase immersion even more, you’ll have to work from the vehicles inside a workshop, as well as providing them with fuel. This mod is supported on Minecraft 1.12 and 1.15.
Immersive Vehicles
Another large vehicle pack is Immersive Vehicles, which was previously known as Transport Simulator. It has a lot of features including realistic physics, joystick support for more immersion, an in-game manual so you don’t have to read a wiki and true lighting as shown on the screenshot above. One of the best features though is that you can enhance the mod by installing packs, which add many new vehicles and mechanics. This mod currently supports Minecraft 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12.
Transport Simulator
Transport Simulator is the previous version of Immersive Vehicles above. It features 6 different planes, 3 automobiles and a load of different signs which can help you create a realistic world. You should try to use Immersive Vehicles though as it’s updated more frequently. Transport Simulator is compatible with Minecraft 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12.
Traincraft
Traincraft is a huge mod, and great for any multiplayer server (the image above comes from my own server). You can create many trains which can be used to travel around the map to different locations. With enough redstone, you can even automate the trains to drive around the map, stop at a station and take off again. It works with Minecraft 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7.
UNU Civilian Vehicles
UNU Civilian Vehicles adds 20 new vehicles to Minecraft. They range from Taxis, Police Cars, Fire Trucks, School Bus, Airship, Forklift, Train Car and more. If you use Immersive Railroading, it also adds 18 new trains. There’s a lot of other features for these vehicles including paint jobs, working headlights, sirens and more. You can use this mod with Minecraft 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12.
Immersive Railroading
Next up is Immersive Railroading, which we spoke about a little in the previous mod. It’s similar to Railcraft, adding a new train type transport system for items and players. The mod features life size trains, flexible track system, the ability to transfer solids and fluids, animal transports and more. Currently, it works with Minecraft 1.14.4, 1.12, 1.11, 1.10, and 1.7.10.
UNU Military Vehicles
Another UNU Vehicle mod is this one, which adds military vehicles. It works great for any server where you might be doing PvP, or one where you have incorporated weapon mods. This pack also includes a large gun which works with Immersive Railroading above. UNU Military Vehicles is compatible with Minecraft 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12.
The RC Mod
The RC Mod is a Minecraft mod which adds realistically simulated remote controlled vehicles in your Minecraft game. Currently, the mod includes RC, Trainer Plane, Car, Boat, Helicopter, Drone (quad), F-22 Raptor with missiles, Submarine with missiles, Stunt Plane, Octocopter and RC Racer. This mod only works on Minecraft 1.14, which is one of the newer versions.
Golden Airport Pack
Golden Airport Pack aims to add 1:1 scale realistic airport-related vehicles into Minecraft. It includes airliners, fuel trucks, baggage trucks and more, and as you can see by the image above, they are branded to match real airlines. However this mod will require Immersive Vehicles to work, and is available on Minecraft 1.12.
Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Finally, we have Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga mod. It’s Star Wars themed (obviously) and adds many new items besides vehicles. After installing this mod, you’ll find over 90 new mobs, 6 different planets, vehicles, over 20 weapons including lightsabers and more. This mod works with Minecraft 1.12 and Minecraft 1.14.
