There are a few mods available on the PS4 which can dramatically change the look on Fallout 4. There aren’t any texture changing mods though, as that would require external assets. Most of the mods currently available make changes to the lights, adjusting shadows, fog and colors emitted. In this list, we’re going to look through some of the best graphic mods currently available on Fallout 4!

Unfortunately, PS4 players have it the worst when it comes to modding Fallout 4. Due to heavy restrictions by Sony, no external assets are allowed to be used, meaning no new models, textures, sounds etc. This means it’s hard to find a lot of great mods that we usually see on Xbox and PC.

The mods in this list are in no particular order, and all the buttons below link back to Bethesda.net where you can download them on your PS4. Here at PwrDown, we’ve covered many more lists like this for Fallout 4 PS4 Mods!

Better Graphics and Weather

The first graphic mod to make this list is ‘Better Graphics and Weather’ for Fallout 4. The developer hasn’t mentioned any of the features this mod includes, however we know that it primarily changes the colors and lighting of the game, as well as replacing the sunset, specifically the colors as shown above. There are two versions of this mod available, one for full DLC, and one with no DLC.

Water Redux

Water Redux overhauls the appearance of water in Fallout 4, making it look more realistic. It does this by adjusting the clarity of water, making it more clearer in some places, and dirtier in others. The main intention of this mod is to make water feel realistic by adjusting the depth and clarity in different bodies of water, making them reflect how affected they are by the Wasteland around them and making these bodies of water more unique.

Weather Redux

Weather Redux completely overhauls the various weathers in Fallout 4, as well as makes the night time much darker. Some of the main changes this mod makes is storms will now last longer (from 6 to 32 in-game hours), the chances of weather spawning is slightly increased and the sunrise/sunset times have been adjusted to make nights longer and darker.

Improved Lighting Ballistics

Improved Lighting Ballistics significant changes the graphics for projectiles like bullets, lasers, gauss, plasma, missiles and flares, as well as also making changes to the lighting from explosions. It mostly improves the lighting, making them brighter and trace throughout the game world, making the game look more realistic.

Enhanced Lights and FX

Enhanced Lights and FX has a goal to make Fallout 4 look more realistic by changing lights, effects and ambient lights. It adds more god-rays, more shadow casting lights, enhanced day and night cycle for interiors and a darker interior ambient light, all whilst making a minimal impact to your FPS. This is one of the best graphics mods available, and will likely make the biggest difference to your game.
