Weather mods can make your Minecraft world feel very different. Whether it be by making it feel more realistic, or more difficult to survive in. Thankfully, there’s a few good weather mods available for Minecraft.

Modding in general massively change Minecraft, taking it to a whole new level. The great thing is that there are millions of mods available, with them covering practically every category and genre that you can think of. Unfortunately, mod capability and support varies massively between PC, PS4, Xbox and Pocket Edition. All of the mods shown in this list are for Java Edition only.

All the buttons below will link back to Curse Forge, where you can download these mods for Minecraft. We’ve covered a lot more Minecraft Mod Lists just like this one which you’re free to look at!

Weather, Storms and Tornadoes

First up, we have Weather, Storms and Tornadoes for Minecraft. It has many features including new clouds, new particle based rain, improved appearance of vanilla storms, falling leaf particles during heavy wind, new sounds and of course, tornadoes. You don’t have to worry about these storms destroying your creations either, as a deflector block will keep storms away. This mod is available for Minecraft 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12. This is the best Weather mod currently available.

Time & Weather Stones

Next up is Time & Weather Stones. This mod adds 8 new items to Minecraft which you can interact with. Use a rain stone to make it rain in Minecraft, a day stone to change the time to morning etc. It’s not too lore-breaking either, as there is a 10 minute cooldown when you use a stone. Sadly, there’s no recipe so they must be spawned in through creative mode, and the mods available on just Minecraft 1.7.

It’s Raining Food

It’s raining food does exactly as it sounds, it rains food. Unfortunately, rain doesn’t actually fall out of the sky like it does in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Instead, looking up to the sky when it rains will fill up your food metre, helping you replenish health. Currently, this mod is available for Minecraft 1.7 and 1.10.

No More Rain

Simply put, installing and activating this mod will completely remove rain from your Minecraft world. Whether it rains naturally or after entering with a command, it will never come. However the sky will still get darker during a time when it would usually rain. It’s only compatible with Minecraft 1.7 right now.

Toxic Rain

Finally, we have Toxic Rain. By default, it will make rain poison the player, although it can be configured to work with snow and water blocks too. The mod adds a new potion which can make the player invulnerable to poisonous rain. The image above is not a screenshot from this mod. Currently, Toxic Rain is compatible with Minecraft 1.12.
