For those of us that have poured hundreds of hours into Skyrim, we’ve all been there. We’ve all had a list of pending quests too long to scroll through. But no matter how long our backlog of important and semi-important things to do, there’s always room for another one. I mean we’ll get to them all eventually, right? Shrek sure doesn’t think so. If Nintendo and Bethesda ever were to start a family, The Legend of Zelda: Skyrule would be the favorite child. Both franchises are packed with lore, fantasy fighting elements, magic, evil creatures and—with the release of Breath of the Wild—dragons. Yes, the NPCs in the game are very good in terms of intelligence in combat. Yes, they can dynamically react to new situations and switch up the dialogue on the fly when a dragon is defeated. However, the variety of dialogue is nil. I’m sure you can’t count how many times you have heard the guards complain about taking an arrow to the knee. Another common phrase of their’s is “No Lollygagging”. While the Dragonborn surely has never committed that crime, unfortunately the same can’t be said for Squidward from Spongebob Squarepants.

These days it feels like we are going though a golden age of television, an age where there are too many high-quality television shows to keep track of. One series that took the entire world by storm is Game of Thrones based on the books by George R.R. Martin. While fantasy television is not a breakthrough by any means, somehow Game of Thrones managed to bring fantasy into the mainstream. Everyone and their grandmother has at least heard the title. While the world of Game of Thrones is saturated with powerful heroes, evil villains, demonic lords and dragons, we mustn’t forget that the world of Skyrim has Dovahkiin (the dragonborn). Daenerys may have hatched three dragons from their eggs, but give The Dragonborn a sword and a bow and we’ll call it a day.

Coming in at number one on this list is a Batman – Skyrim crossover I never saw coming. I used to think that the “Arrow to the Knee” memes, jokes and parodies were played-out and overdone. Then, some brilliant savage took that phrase, applied it to Batman and had us all rolling on the floor laughing. If like me, you love dark humor then this meme is the one for you.
