Kodi Mimic Skin
The Kodi Mimic Skin looks very similar to one of the other skins which we recently reviewed, which was Omni, which is great as we loved that skin. Mimic has a vertical menu up the left side which uses text items as a navigation menu, so this skin doesn’t contain much graphic wise. However it does support a mouse so that you aren’t restricted to your keyboard or remote control which is great for casual Kodi users. This feature alone really sells this skin and makes it worth using.
The skin has a spotlight feature in which it will display some of your media files when you hover over its category (including poster art, name, year and description of the file) which is a nice touch. You also get your clock, date, weather etc in the top right. Thankfully, this skin doesn’t contain any images near the menus, as I think that would destroy it’s appearance. The way this skin currently looks is great, it’s quite minimalist and the colours contract nicely.
In my opinion, this skin is one of the more basic ones, whilst it doesn’t offer a lot in appearance or features, it brings it all back with function. It’s great for those of you who don’t care what your setup looks like or what special things it can do. If your that type of person, then give this skin a try, it’s super fast and extremely lightweight, meaning it will also go well with the lower tier devices.
