Flans Mod

POST CATEGORIES:

Flans Mod is huge, adding tons of military-style equipment into Minecraft. You’ll find Planes, Tanks, Guns, Cars, Equipment and more with it installed. And with the included content pack system, you can easily add more items which have different themes, such as Modern, or WW2.

We’ve covered many more mods in a Wiki format here at PwrDown, as well as full lists on our YouTube Channel. Alternatively, you might be interested in looking at some of our Minecraft Mod Lists currently available here on the website.

Installing Content Packs

Before playing with Flans Mod, you need to install content packs. The mod alone acts as the backbone, and doesn’t include any content whatsoever. You can go ahead and download a Content Pack from Flans website.

There’s a few different themes, such as Modern Weapons, World War 2, Titan, Nerf and a lot more. On the website, you’ll find over 100 content packs, so you shouldn’t be strapped for choice.

In my case, I’m going to install the World War II pack, as it’s my favorite. This one can be obtained from CurseForge, and it will be a .JAR file.

Don’t do anything with it yet. Instead, just make sure you have Flans mod installed to your mods folder and run Minecraft once. It should create a folder named ‘Flan’ inside of your Minecraft directory, which is the same folder that the mods folder is located in. You want to place any content packs inside of this Flan folder. When you relaunch Minecraft, the pack will be installed and working.

How to Craft Weapons

Unfortunately, the process of crafting weapons is a little bit different with each content pack. In the WW2 content pack, there are German, Japanese, American, Russian and British Weapon Boxes.

When you interact with the box and browse through the pages, you can see a list of weapons which can be crafted, as well as their ammunition on the right hand side.

I haven’t checked each content pack, but I know that the Modern Weapons Pack also uses Weapons Boxes. I’d recommend installing Just Enough Items (JEI) so that you can see the recipe of every item in the game. It’s also worth reading the description of each Content Pack so you know exactly how they work.

Some weapons can be upgraded inside of the Weapons Modification Table, which can be crafted from 5 Iron Ingots and a Cauldron. Inside of it, you can improve your weapons by applying attachments to them, or skins for cosmetic purposes.

How to Craft Vehicles

A lot of Flans Mod Vehicles can be crafted inside of the included Vehicle Crafting Table. The table itself can be crafted from 6 Iron Ingots and 3 Bowls. When you interact with the Vehicle Crafting Table, you should see a list of Vehicles currently available.

With the WW2 pack installed, it includes different Tanks, Jeeps, Anti-aircraft Guns and Planes. When you select a vehicle, you can see the ingredients required to create it. And once you do, you can place the vehicle down in your world to interact with it.

Vehicles Note
NOTE: If your vehicles are invisible once you place them, or the game is crashing, try installing the Simple Parts Content Pack. This should be placed inside the Flan folder, alongside your other content packs.
