Minecraft Comes Alive is a Village overhaul. It brings a lot more life to them, with all new interactions like jobs, marriage, gifting and more.

Getting Started

To get started with Minecraft Comes Alive, you’ll need to look for a Village. If you can’t find one, then try using the /locate Village command, or try out the Village Spawn Point mod, which causes you to initially spawn in a Village when creating a world.

You’ll instantly notice that Villagers look a lot different, with them having human skins instead. To interact with a Villager, you can simply right click them.

How to Marry

You’ll need to get to know Villagers before you can marry them. This can be done by right clicking on them, pressing the interact button and choosing options like Flirt, Hug, Kiss and Joke. Or you can give them gifts, which are items from your inventory.

When you interact with a Villager, you can see a Heart icon on the left-hand side, which you can hover over. It displays your affinity with the Villager.

If you craft a Wedding Ring (8 Gold Ingots), then you need 100 Hearts to get married. Alternatively, you can craft an Engagement Ring by switching out the top Gold Ingot with a Diamond, and this allows you to get married if you have 50 Hearts instead.

When you want to Marry in Minecraft Comes Alive, gift the Villager a Ring, and they’ll accept. You can also marry other players, as long as they accept when you give them a Ring.

Having Babies

When you’ve successfully married a Villager, by following the steps above, you’ll be able to create a baby. This can be done by interacting with the Villager you’re married to, and pressing the newly added ‘Procreate’ button.

After a few seconds, a baby will be added to your inventory. And the chance for it to be a boy or girl is completely random. When you right click while holding it, you’ll be able to name your baby.

Hover over it in your inventory to see its age, which will be in minutes. Once the baby reaches 10 minutes old, you can right click the ground to spawn it as a child.

Chores

The main reason you’ll want to have kids with Minecraft Comes Alive is because they can be sent to do Chores. These are tasks, which will benefit you.

  1. Farming: The Child will collect all grown Crops, or plant the Seeds you give them.
  2. Woodcutting: The Child can cut down Trees, giving the wood to you.
  3. Mining: The Child will alert you of nearby Ores, or go Mining themselves.
  4. Hunting: The Child will kill any nearby animals, returning the drops.

To give a Child a Chore, interact with them and choose the ‘Work’ option from the menu. Once a Child has grown up, they’ll no longer do Chores.
