When you first sign up to Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, you can either create a new account or use a social media account as a login. You have a name and a player ID.
Now, if you want to sign in to another account, start fresh or let a friend log in for example, you will first need to sign out. Thankfully, this is possible, although it feels like the option is hidden deep into the menus.
Below, we've put together a short guide for signing out of the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite mobile game. If you want to check out some more guides we've done, check out our dedicated area here!
To sign out, you will first need to open your suitcase in Wizards Unite. To do this, press the suitcase icon located in the bottom middle of the main map screen.
Now your suitcase will open, it will look like...
When playing Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, the game tracks the distance you have walked. It's then used for completing challenges which give you rewards for walking a certain amount of miles or kilometres.
This information is then displayed on your profile under your Ministry ID, where you can see it as well as friends and other players. The app will only track your distance walked whilst the app is open and you are moving.
Below, we have a very short guide for checking how much you have walked whilst playing Wizards Unite. If you want to check out some other guides for the game, you can view our dedicated area here.
Checking Distance Walked

The Ministry ID will open, which looks like the screen below. Underneath...
In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, you need to choose a Hogwarts House to fill out your Ministry ID. Obviously, you can choose between Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
At the moment, it doesn't seem like these really do anything except fill out your profile. You can also switch between the houses anytime you want, so you aren't locked into one of them.
Below, we have a quick guide showing you how you can choose your house when playing Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. If you want to check out some more guides for the game, you can see some related content at the bottom of this guide.

In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, you can both add and remove friends from your list. You might want to do this to make space (there is a maximum limit of 200 friends), or just to clear it up a bit.
Luckily, the process was really easy. We've put together a short guide below for removing friends in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Whilst if you're interested, we've also put together some more guides for the game which can be found here.
Start at the home screen (map view) and open up your friends list. If you don't know how to do this, press the icon of the two wizards located in the bottom left corner of the screen just above the profile button.

When playing Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, it's possible to add and remove friends to your account, allowing you to view their ministry ID and profile. Although at the moment it doesn't look like it does much else.
To add a friend, you will need their Friend code, and not their Username. It's a long code that will have to be sent you, otherwise the other person can choose to share their profile with you.
Below, you can read our guide for adding friends in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite mobile game. If you want to check out some more simple guides that we've covered, you can view our dedicated area here!
Starting at the Map view, open up the friends menu. You can do this by pressing the icon of the 2 wizards located in the bottom left corner of the screen, just above the button that shows your current level.
In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, you have two different types of names. These are your username, which you appear to friends as. Then there is your full name which consists of a First and Last name, which Niantic claims to keep private.
Really, I don't know why they need all this information, it's not necessary to play the game, so I recommend using something other than your real name. Anyhow, you can change your full name at any time, but not your username by the looks of it.
Below, we have a quick guide for changing your name on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite on mobile. We've covered some more guides which can be found towards the bottom of this post.
Changing Your Name
